Keystone Gun-Krete, LLC was contracted for concrete pumping at Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health Ann B. Barshinger Cancer Institute’s State-Of-The-Art Proton Therapy Facility. With the equipment being used in the new facilty, concrete floors and walls are required to be as thick as 20′ in specific areas. The first large mat pour began at 3:00 am two days before Christmas consisting of 600 yards of concrete being placed for the foundation of this cutting-edge facility. A second concrete pump was rented from Keystone Gun-Krete, LLC and was on standby offsite as backup should the need for an additional pump arise. The pour went seemlessly with ground heaters and blankets being used to keep temperatures at proper levels before, during, and after the pour.
